The clutch disc is a circular, plate type disc which comes in various sizes and types. However, the primary function of the disc is to help engage and then disengage the clutch from the vehicle’s engine. Over time the clutch can wear out, making it difficult to select gears while driving a car. When this begins to happen, it is advisable that a new clutch disc is replaced with one that’s meant for that particular vehicle.
One good indicator that the clutch disc is problematic is that the clutch pedal goes very high, indicating that a replacement clutch is required. The other problem you’ll notice is that it can become harder to put the car into gear. At times, you can put the vehicle into first and third but not in the second or downshift from third to second. If you notice a similar problem, take your vehicle to a certified mechanic to determine if the clutch disc requires repairs or replacement.
We sell some of the highest quality clutch disc and other associated replacement parts by high-end OEM manufacturers like SACHS. However, because all vehicles use a slightly different type of disc, it is imperative that you buy a disc with the exact same part number as the existing one. If you’re unable to find the right disc using the part number mentioned, then feel free to get in touch with us via email or over the phone.
