What is an ignition coil?

An ignition coil as the name suggests is responsible for igniting the fuel in your car’s engine. The coil is quite literally a coil with thousands of copper wire turns. Each time you turn the key in your car’s ignition, the battery sends current to the coil to power it up, the coil which then sends a tremendous amount of electricity to the spark plug to generate a high-intensity spark. However, like with everything else the ignition coil does wear out which can make starting your vehicle difficult to start. That said ignition coil spares are relatively inexpensive and easy to replace.

How to know there is a problem with the coil?

A vehicle’s owner may have a hard time determining if there is a problem with the ignition coil or the wires or even if the battery is not strong enough. There could be various other reasons for your car not starting or taking long to start which also includes the onboard CPU. That said if you have a problem starting your vehicle take it to a certified mechanic who will then use a multimeter to check all the electrical components before determining if the coil needs to be replaced.

Top quality coils

When buying ignition coil spares always pay extra and buy the best ones. High-quality coils last longer and generate the spark needed to start your vehicle right away. We currently sell coils by leading brands such as Vemo. Every coil has been tested and comes backed by a warranty. However, it's imperative that you always buy the right one for your vehicle by matching the part number to the one on your car’s user’ manual.
