This gasket is a rubber strip used to seal the water pump of the vehicle to prevent water leaking which will eventually lead to low water level and consequently overheating of the engine. Overheating can cause irreparable damage to the engine which then may either have to be overhauled or replaced. That said getting the gasket replaced is a much cheaper and easier option when you suspect that water is leaking from the pump or an associated water line.
You may notice a puddle of coolant or water underneath the engine. Another indicator is that the temperature of your car will continue to rise even past the mid-way point. Also, leaks can cause the water level in the vehicle to decline. So, make sure to open up your radiator’s pressure cap every week and take note of the water level. If you notice that it’s receding dramatically that too could point to a bad water pump gasket. Either way, it’s always a good idea to get your vehicle inspected by a certified mechanic to determine the cause of the problem.
We currently sell the highest quality water pump gaskets by well-known manufacturers like FEBI BIL STEIN, 3RG, and ELRING amongst others. So, you can be sure that the quality of the replacement water pump gasket is the best in the business. However, always make sure to buy a gasket which has the same part number as the one you’re replacing. The mechanic should be able to provide you with the right part number.
